The generation of templates is the
result of a series of software routines to extract
relevant features. Following are the sequential
steps used by Agora:
-
Image Crop
-
Directions
-
Binarization
-
Thinning
-
Minutiae Extraction
Image crop
The image is separated from its
background. Special algorithms may be used with
images captured with live finger scanners, and with
paper based images digitized with a flat bed scanner.
Since the image is cropped, to Agora it does not matter
what was the original size of the image provided it was
within a minimum size 400 x 400 pixels and maximum size
of 832 x 768 pixels
